TPAN announces closing ceremony for 19th annual Ride for Life Chicago, June 19, 2022

Chicago, IL–TPAN will host the Closing Ceremony of the Ride For Life Chicago on Sunday, June 19 at Foster Beach from noon-5pm. Cyclists will complete their 200-, 100-, and 50-mile rides to converge at the beach for TPAN’s largest community-based fundraising event. The day also celebrates TPAN's anniversary, celebrating 35 years of serving individuals of all identities living with and vulnerable to HIV.

To co-celebrate Father’s Day, School of Rock Andersonville will present a concert of favorites performed by students. As June is Pride Month, there will be a drag review as well as a showcase from the Kiki Queens, a Chicago live-singing collective. To honor Juneteenth, Illinois State Senator Mike Simmons will deliver a brief keynote address followed by performances from FUTUREHOOD, a Chicago art, music, and fashion collective featuring Chicago-born rapper Mister Wallace and Friends. Throughout the day, Organized Grime will provide music for dancing on the lakefront with DJ’s Blu 9, Brady Prince and Ryan Willing.

TPAN was founded in June 1987 in Chicago as the Test Positive Aware Network, when 17 individuals living with HIV gathered in a living room to share information and support in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. It has since grown to provide an array of programs and support services for people living with or affected by HIV, and publishes a nationally distributed HIV treatment and health magazine, Positively Aware.
