TPAN Moving to New Office, Partnering with Howard Brown Health
Offices closed May 22-24
This month, Test Positive Aware Network (TPAN) will move its offices to the Edgewater neighborhood, opening a co-located medical clinic operated by Howard Brown Health. The move returns TPAN to its former storefront location, 5537 N Broadway.
According to CEO Patti Capouch. “TPAN has grown in our 30 year history—and the face of HIV has changed. We remain committed to meeting the needs of our clients, which increasingly include homelessness, substance use, and mental health issues. Our new office allows us to continue to provide complete, wrap-around services for all Chicagoans.”
The new location will feature renovated offices and meeting spaces, as well as a drop-in center—The Tea Room—for TPAN’s expanding youth clientele. “We are creating a safe space for youth to visit, and to get to know our staff and the many services specifically provided for younger individuals,” says Julie Supple, Director of Client Services. TPAN has run two federally-funded programs for youth, addressing mental health and substance use. “54% of our young clients are unstably housed or homeless. The Tea Room will feature a computer area, washer and dryer, and be an overall comfortable gathering space.”
In June, Howard Brown Health will begin seeing clients in a four-room clinic located at TPAN. “We have always been a one-stop-shop for clients, and now visitors will be able to access their medical care on-site at TPAN,” says Supple.
TPAN, the North Side HIV/AIDS service organization, was founded in 1987. The publisher of Positively Aware magazine and a direct service provider, TPAN provides free prevention, mental health, and case management services for those living with or vulnerable for HIV, hepatitis C, and related illnesses.
TPAN will be closed May 22-24 for the move, reopening on Thursday, May 25. The new office will be located at 5537 N Broadway St, Chicago, IL 60640. All phone, fax, and email addresses remain the same. Learn more at www.tpan.com.
